Republicans Gay Marriage, Abortion etc

The Republicans had their debate last nite. I didn't think it could have been more boring than the Democrats but it was. I literally couldn't take more than two minutes of it. That being said I am still resigned that the Dems will lose. It's no longer an ACTUAL election of the better candidate or whatever. It's now ENTRENCHED partisanship. And although I don't believe the B.S. that the Democrats really represent me..they are NOT anti-War or anti-military industrial complex, they are PRO- dysfunctional unions (labor and teachers) all of whom have had their day and are now hurting America more than helping and they are PRO- taxation. The Republicans have it good though. Their faithful are REALLY faithful. I listen to C-Span alot and have worked in Suburban Virginia. There are people who STILL like George Bush. They spew that claptrap about the liberal media focusing on the bad and so-on. It's depressing. Also, how can you argue with tax cuts? The American sentiment about the Welfare State has changed since FDR. If FDR is the "eminence gris" of the Dems then Reagan is the "eminence gris" of the Pachyderm Party. I respect Reagan like a Yankee fan respects David Ortiz." He's on the other side but he IS good." People want to keep their money. This is not the Depression, it's not like EVERYBODY is effected by some worldwide economic crisis. The mainstream sees the indigent and poor as ESSENTIALLY indigent and mean spirited. As far as abortion and gay marriage goes, the fundamental sentiment of the mainstream is.." how do I organize my life to get a good job, get into a good relationship and have a baby..MY BABY?" The common sense and instinctual motivation for the State is the accumulation , preservation and transfer of property, liberty and happiness along freely chosen genetic lines. We are enlightened enough to allow for some variation but our collective "hearts" are with norms and standards that allow for projection of the collective into the future thru HETERO un-aborted reproduction. The trick though is this WARGASM that the Republicans have been saddled with. The Dems have it too because as a country we are a war-economy but the Dem politicians can let the Repubs take the heat and sort of pretend that they are anti-war..or at least anti-THIS WAR. It aint true.
